Two popular CBC personalities and one of Canada's leading comedians participated in Wordstock 2011. Terry O'Reilly is the host of the popular CBC radio show The Age of Persuasion. The show focuses on the business of advertising, and the series created the starting point for O'Reilly's recently published book The Age of Persuasion:How Marketing Ate Our Culture. A co-founder of Toronto's Pirate Radio & Television, O'Reilly has created brilliantly innovative ads, and directed the who's who of film, TV, politics and sports. Terry O' Reilly has won many awards for his writing and directing, and has received three lifetime achievement awards from the advertising industry. Brian Goldman is a popular CBC personality and author of The Night Shift: Real Life in the Heart of the E.R.A. Goldman is an award winning medical reporter for CBC Television's The Health Show and The National. He also is the host of CBC Radio One's White Coat, Black Art. Sean Cullen has been touring and performing as a comedian for the past 20 years. There are many things that make him unique in the comedy world. He combines stream of consciousness improv with uncanny mimicry and broad musical talents to create a style that is his and his alone. His new book is entitled The Prince of Neither Here Nor There. Sean has been featured in Time Magazine in the USA as the vanguard of comedy's next generation. He was a finalist in last season of NBC's The Last Comic Standing. and has appeared on shows such as The Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres, multiple times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Late Show on CBS. Sean has many comedy specials under his belt including Comedy Central Presents... Sean Cullen, CTV/ The Comedy Network's Gemini nominated Sean Cullen's Wood, Cheese & Children!, CBC's COMICS! and his own special, SEAN CULLEN's Home for Christmas. Trinity United Church hosted the speakers, and also welcomed local authors to Hunter Hall where they displayed their work and met with Wordstock visitors.
