Collingwood Roof Truss Manufacturing Plant Will Close
T.D. Snow and Son Sold

Collingwood Plant Will Close At The End Of April

T.D. Snow and Son, founded in 1975 by Thomas Snow, has been sold to Kent Trusses Limited. The result will see the Collingwood operation close its doors at the end of April. In a prepared release, T.D. Snow President Tod DeCourcy said that Kent Trusses Limited has a strong and proud history of quality and strong employee relationships. "Both T.D. Snow and Kent Trusses are focused on continuing with these traditions and we are very proud to become part of their Team."

While DeCourcy will take a position with Kent Trusses, Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier will leave the company. Carrier, a part owner of the company, has been with T.D. Snow and Sons since 1988. He that the dropping price of lumber and the struggling housing market in the United States contributed to the plant closure. Carrier said that he is exploring opportunities for the future, and stated that his focus through the sale process was to help the staff deal with the situation as best he could.

The Collingwood operation employed 23 people. Kent Trusses has its manufacturing plant located in Sundrige, north of Parry Sound.
