Early Evening Santa Claus Parade Attracted Huge Crowds to Downtown Collingwood |
The weather outside was far from frightful as near-record mild temperatures welcomed visitors to Downtown Collingwood for the Santa Claus Parade, official Tree Lighting Ceremony and Fireworks on Saturday, November 26th. This year, the parade moved to the early evening, making its way down main street just after 5:00 p.m. It was a full day of activities as Downtown Collingwood officially launched the Holiday Season with many special events, including the first-ever Christmas Farmers' Market held on the main floor of the Temple building. Many commercial businesses, non-profit organizations, and youth groups presented entries that celebrated the theme of “Home for the Holidays”. The night scene was filled with music and lights as the magic of the Christmas season was experienced by record crowds for the event.
