Santa Arrives In Downtown Collingwood

The Holiday Season is officially underway in Collingwood. The annual Collingwood Santa Claus Parade was held on Sunday December 2nd in Downtown Collingwood. The parade made its way through downtown streets in front of a large gathering of people of all ages who enjoyed seeing the many floats, marching bands and of course, Santa. Early snowfalls this year provided the perfect winter backdrop for the parade, adding to the festive decorations on display throughout the downtown.

Holiday celebrations will continue throughout the Downtown district, including visits with Santa in front of Town Hall on Saturday December 8th, 15th and 22nd from noon until 3pm each day.

Don't miss New Year's Eve celebrations under the clock tower on Monday December 31st from 12 noon until 9pm. On that day, the Town of Collingwood will officially launch its Sesquicentennial Celebrations with downtown activities including children's games and crafts beginning at 12 noon, the unveiling of the Sesquicentennial Historic Panels and a brilliant fireworks display at 9pm.

The CCI Marching Band provided music at the annual Collingwood Santa Claus Parade. The CCI Marching Band has been participating in parades throughout the region and recently took part in the Toronto Santa Claus Parade.

Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier was in the Santa Claus Parade along with Simcoe-Grey MP Helena Guergis (above). Collingwood Councilor's Norm Sandberg, Kathy Jeffery and Mike Edwards were also on hand. Councilor Dave Labelle was warming up the car (a convertable) when this photo was taken!
