The Town of Collingwood has a new Chief Administrative Officer. The Office of the Mayor issued a press release on July 13, 2009, announcing the arrival of Ms. Kimberly Wingrove to the position of CAO.

The Town of Collingwood has concluded the recruitment process for its Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). After an extensive search with over 200 candidates, Mayor Chris Carrier and Collingwood Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Kimberly Wingrove to the position of Chief Administrative Officer. Collingwood Council is excited to have Ms. Wingrove join our established team that has been successfully led for the past four years by Chief Administrative Officer Gord Norris who is retiring. Mr. Norris has confirmed that he will retire this September after thirty years of exemplary public service with the Town of Collingwood. Ms. Wingrove will be assuming her new role as CAO effective September 8th, 2009.

Ms. Wingrove brings a wealth of experience to the position of Chief Administrative Officer. Most recently, she has held the position of Director, Regional Economic Development Programming for the Ministry of Economic Development with the Province of Ontario. Ms. Wingrove has held prior senior positions with Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

Ms. Wingrove is a strategic and versatile senior executive who is recognized as a champion for change. She has an extensive business background which is complemented by expertise in the areas of economic development, strategic planning, governmental relations and communications. She is highly skilled in leading large-scale corporate initiatives and in directing large dynamic teams through significant organizational change. Ms. Wingrove is recognized as a collaborative, inspiring, proactive and visionary leader and communicator.

The first project Ms. Wingrove will guide is the implementation of the Town’s recently released Strategic Plan. She will lead the management team and all Town staff to implement Council’s policy directions and she will continue to foster strategic relationships with our community and with all levels of government. Council is enthusiastic and confident that the outstanding leadership credentials of Ms. Kimberly Wingrove will continue to further enshrine Collingwood as a municipality that is Naturally Wonderful, Healthy by Design, Sustainable by Choice and Inviting by Tradition.


 


Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier 's office announced the arrival of Kimberly Wingrove as the town's new CAO, to replace Gord Norris who will retire in September. The first project Ms. Wingrove will guide is the implementation of the Town of Collingwood's recently released Strategic Plan.
