Midway State Multiple Winners at MMVA

The Much Music Video Awrds wre held on Sunday, June 21st in Toronto, co-hosted by the Jonas Brothers and broadcasted live from coast-to-coast. The MMVA featured highly anticipated performances by Nickelback, Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas.

The big winners were Canadian rockers, Nickelback. The band won for Video Of The Year, Post Production Of The Year and the MuchLOUD Rock Video Of The Year.

Collingwood's Midway State were multiple winners as well, taking home the VideoFACT Indie Video Of The Year and UR Fave New Artist awards. Midway State includes talented local residents Nathan Ferraro, lead singer, and Daenen Bramberger. Originally from Collingwood and surrounding areas, the band first performed in 2002 at the Mountain View Hotel. In September 2004, after almost three years and one cross- Canada tour, band members began to work with Juno Award winning, and multi-platinum producer Gavin Brown, best known for his work with artists Sarah Harmer, Billy Talent, and Three Days Grace. Gavin Brown produced The Midway State's first EP, Met a Man on Top the Hill.

Midway State is Nation Ferraro (lead vocals, song writer, piano), Daenen Bramberger (drums), Mike Kirsh (bass) and Mike Wise (guitar).

In 2007, Midway State performed "live" in Trafalgar Square in London, England to celebrate Canada Day. The next day, the band performed in Paris. The band has been featured on The OC, had its first video produced by Sum 41's Steve-O and has toured with Lifehouse.
