Collingwood Elementary Students Join Mayor Carrier For The Annual Mayor's Walk Town Crier Ken Templeman welcomed a large turnout for the annual Mayor's Walk on Friday June 15th. Bright sunshine and warm temperatures made for a perfect day to explore Collingwood's trail system. Mayor Chris Carrier welcomed participants, including students from Collingwood elementary schools. The Mayor's Walk is held each year and promotes fitness while celebrating Collingwood's outstanding parks and trail system. Participants met at Harbourview Park to enjoy a walk and lunch in the sunshine. Mayor Carrier let it slip that he was celebrating his birthday and was immediately greeted with an impromptu rendition of "Happy Birthday" by the large crowd. |

Councilor Sonny Foley joined Mayor Carrier at the Mayor's Walk. In his opening remarks, Carrier thanked Foley for his tireless work over the years in helping plan and develop municipal parks and The Collingwood Trail System. In fact, Carrier introduced Councilor Foley as "Mr. Trails," triggering a nice round of applause by the audience. |
