Mother Nature created one of the most popular attractions for everyone to enjoy on the Family Day holiday weekend. Winds gusting to 70 km/h throughout the early morning hours of Saturday, February 19th, produced huge waves on Nottawasaga Bay that in turn pounded the shoreline behind the Collingwood Terminals. A large portion of Millennium Park was frozen in time, coated with thick ice thanks to the spray from the waves that had crashed into the rocks below.

The intense weekend storm caused numerous road closures and cancelled activies on Saturday morning, but Sunday morning produced clear skies, brilliant sunshine and calm conditions.
