The Ground Breaking Ceremony is complete making way for construction to begin on the new Collingwood and District Humane Society. The new animal shelter will be located on the 10th line, beside the Collingwood Public Utilities Works Building. More than half a million dollars in donations and donation pledges have been received to date. The land the shelter is to be constructed on was donated by the Town of Collingwood.

The recent Ground Breaking Ceremony was truly a regional affair. Wasaga Beach Mayor Cal Patterson was on hand. The Town of Wasaga Beach has donated $5,000.00. The Collingwood and District Humane Society will serve the Town of Collingwood, Clearview township and the Town of Wasaga Beach.
