The 2011 Collingwood Gaslight Tour's theme is "Whiskey & Wickedness (1850 - 1910), inviting audience members to "tread the unlit muddy streets of yesteryear, peer in ghostly, bustling tavern doorways and overhear intimate conversation by candle gleam through curtained windows." The Gaslight Tour, held from November 3rd to 6th at various Collingwood locations, offers unique and entertaining twenty minute presentations of Collingwood's rich history. More than 100 volunteers have worked together to present the 2011 Collingwood event that uses live theatre to present historic stories of our town. "Eavesdrop on our town.... 150 years young. See and hear the dramatic transformation of the dust of historical record into deeds of darkness and light. Spy on builders, bawds, brewers, mariners, mischief makers, merchants, good women and great women: all ardent players for high stakes in the place that was. Come with us to reawaken the passionate past that sleeps on in the dark corners of playful imagination.
