Gaslight Tour Will Showcase
Collingwood's Architectural
Heritage In A Creative New Way

The Collingwood Rotary Club is the driving force behind a creative new way to showcase Collingwood's architectural heritage. The Gaslight Tour will take participants and spectators on a journey through Collingwood's past. The event will be held from November 4th to 7th and will visit five historically significant venues featuring performances of original short plays that will be tied to significant historical events to celebrate Collingwood's heritage. The five, one act plays will be researched and written by local talent. The purpose of the tour is to raise funds to create a theatre group in Collingwood specifically for young people.

Producer and Rotarian Arlene Noble says that the main goals of the event are to foster community spirit, develop local talent and showcase Collingwood's heritage.

The Winter 2010 edition of the Heritage Collingwood Newsletter quoted Heritage Committee Member Margaret Mooy as saying that people from many different areas of the community will be taking part. Mooy will serve as a researcher for the Gaslight Tour. "I think it's great. It's a huge project. All the venues have been secured. Each location plays a significant role in telling the story of a Collingwood event" Mooy said.

The venues for the November 2010 Gaslight Tour in Collingwood have yet to be announced.
