The undefeated Collingwood Collegiate Senior Fighting Owls Football Club is the GBSSA Champion. The Fighting Owls defeated the Barrie North Vikings 29-2 in the championship game played at Collingwood Collegiate on Saturday, November 14th.

The Owls took a 7-1 lead into the dressing room at half time and finished the job with a big fourth quarter in front of a huge hometown crowd. Quarterback Jamie Cook had another good afternoon for the Fighting Owls, and Running back Josh Reason was voted MVP of the championship game. Collingwood advanced to the finals with a convincing 43-1 victory over the St. Joan of Arc Knights. The Fighting Owls will advance to the Metro Bowl semi-finals.

The Fighting Owls lost to the Peterborough Crestwood Mustangs 23-17 at the Metro Bowl semi-finals in Toronto on Friday, November 20th. With the win over CCI, the Mustangs earned a place in the National Capital Bowl to be played at Toronto's Rogers Centre on Wednesday, November 25th.
