February Family Jam
Family Day Long Weekend
Collingwood's Central Park hosted many Family Day events on the long holiday weekend at the annual February Family Jam

The Family Day holiday weekend featured the annual February Family Jam in Collingwood. Central Park hosted many events including the popular Airbounce Activities (above) for the children. The outdoor skating rink behind the Collingwood Curling Club hosted free public skating, and inside, members of the club hosted curling demonstrations and invited visitors to relax and view the curling from the newly renovated upper lounge area.

The Collingwood Public Library hosted "Sock Monk-a-Thon," where children learned how to make a sock monkey. Some of the monkeys were donated to Clowns Without Borders, a humanitarian organization that provides laughter, hope and healing to communities around the world affected by disease, disaster and social/political turmoil.

Other weekend events included snow golf, snowman making, snowshoeing on Memory Lane Trail and Family Yoga at the Collingwood YMCA at Central Park.

Activitites began on Friday night with the Sledge Hockey Challenge at the Eddie Bush Arean as Team Canada took on local celebrities to raise money for Breaking Down Barriers.

Members of the Collingwood Curling Club invited people to visit the newly renovated lounge to be introduced to the sport. Equipment was provided for those wanting to give the sport a try.
