Collingwood Economic Development (CED) has released its "Year In Review 2009" newsletter. The newsletter reviewed the CED's 2009 initiatives and welcomed Collingwood's new CAO, Kimberly Wingrove, and highlights Ms. Wingrove's extensive background with the Province of Ontario in Economic Development. In addition, the new Economic Development print advertising campaign is highlighted. The campaign features local people telling local business success stories and highlighting why people choose to live and work in Collingwood.

The report looks back at the first phase of Downtown Collingwood's revitalization, and looks ahead to hte possibility of attracting a Regional Post-Secondary facility to the area as part of a Regional Economic Stimulus Plan.

2009 represented another successful year for the Small Business Enterprise Centre. Ten area students took part in the Provincial Summer Company Program, administered locally by the Enterprise Centre. The program helped the students start and run their own businesses.
