This Is Why We Live Here 4 Season Fun All In One Weekend |
| The mood was festive in the warm sunshine as Collingwood residents enjoyed time on the ski hills, bike trails, golf course and yes, even on the nearby Nottawasaga River waterskiing. Collingwood provided all four-season activities on the Easter Weekend thanks to the record breaking warm temperatures. The ski conditions held on for the weekend while the extended sunshine and dry weather over the past few weeks allowed area golf courses to open early for the season. Blue Mountain opened early (at 7:30am) on Good Friday, allowing for some late season skiing and boarding in the warm sunshine. Even a breakdown of the only chairlift running didn't dampen the spirits of people who had arrived for one last ski day. The patios quickly filled up and everyone took a break while repairs were made. Mayor Chris Carrier said that a day like this showcases the four-season lifestyle we all enjoy in Collingwood and throughout the southern Georgian Bay region. Douglas Burton and Don Gallinger of Collingwood had all angles covered. They arrived at 7:30am on Good Friday for a few runs down Blue Mountain and then left to launch the boat in the nearby Nottawasaga River to officially kick off their water ski season. |

Even the breakdown of the Silver Bullet chairlift at Blue Mountain Central couldn't take away from the festive spirit as skiers and boarders simply took a break at the bottom of the hill, in the warm sunshine. |
