Doors Open Ontario 2008 continues to bring together communities across Ontario. Throughout the province, there is a growing pride in our heritage. Communities boast of their commercial buildings, courthouses, places of worship, gardens, natural heritage and other heritage sites. From April to October each year, communities open the doors to some of our most intriguing and charming heritage sites. Admission is free.

The Collingwood Community Arena hosted its first hockey game on November 10th, 1949, against Owen Sound. The arena was re-named after Collingwood hockey player and coach Eddie Bush in the 1980's. The Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame is housed in the arena, and displays many trophies, photographs and sweaters like the one below from the former Collingwood Shipbuilders of the old OHA Senior A league.

In 2008, visitors to Doors Open Collingwood will be invited to visit the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 (below) to view the Legion's museum containing artifacts from the First and Second World Wars along as artifacts from the Korean War.
