February Construction Numbers
Can't Match 2009 Record Figures

February 2009 - Record Construction Numbers
Tough Act To Follow In 2010

February 2010 construction numbers couldn't come close to matching the record month of one year ago in Collingwood. Major permits issued in February 2009 included The Shipyards, Mackinaw Village Condo A portion of the Fram Building Group harbourfront development totalling $17,320,650.00 and representing the construction of 48 condominium units. Also, the town issued $1,737,000.00 in building permits in February 2009 to Sierra Tanglewood for the construction of 18 apartment units.

In February 2010, 14 building permits were issued representing a total construction value of almost 1.3 million dollars. To date in 2010, slightly more than 3.7 million dollars in building permits have been issued.

While February 2010 construction numbers were down from 2009 figures, January numbers were up from $1.930,300.00 in 2009 to $2,430,130.00 in 2010.

Residences are at various stages of completion throughout the Shipyards waterfront development in Downtown Collingwood.
