Saturdays of Summer Return
It started out as a chilly, rainy day on Saturday May 17th, but by noon the clouds moved on and the sunshine arrived just in time to kick off the summer season in Downtown Collingwood. Hurontario Street was closed to cars and open to people as it was transformed into a huge pedestrian mall. Merchants were able to show off new spring and summer fashion as a part of the sidewalk sale, and the popular Downtown Collingwood Farmers' Market returned for a new season, joining in with the Street Festival on the main street before moving to its regular home at the corner of Pine and Second Streets. The sunshine helped fill downtown patios with people relaxing on the long holiday weekend in Collingwood. |
