Collingwood Art on the Street - Collingwood Arts and Culture Committee

Collingwood's downtown heritage district now proudly displays the artistic talents of local residents. Collingwood Art on the Street can be seen throughout the downtown streets, featuring twenty-seven unique art banners displaying original works by Collingwood artists. The banners capture original work including photography, jewelry, glasswork, wood carving and paintings. More than 40 artists submitted 77 images for the lamp post art project. A jury reviewed the submissions and weighing creativity, originality and artistic balance, selected 27 for the final art banners that are now proudly displayed throughout the downtown district.

"The Arts and Culture Committee is pleased to bring these unique art banners to the streets of Collingwood," said Chair Janet Fairbridge. "Approved by Council in the spring, it's our first public art project and a way to show how public art can help enhance the community, express our creative identity and encourage conversations about art."
