Admiral Collingwood Place Construction Begins Ground Breaking Ceremony Held To Launch Major Downtown Development |

An official ground breaking ceremony on Thursday December 27, 2007 officially launched the construction The Admiral Collingwood Place condominium and retail development. The building has been awaiting approvals and has now received the signal to move ahead. "Finally, there is action behind the handsome hoardings at Hurontario and Hume!” said Stephen Assaff, President of Admiral Collingwood Development Corporation. The official groundbreaking will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at noon at the site of the project. "This has been an arduous process and I congratulate developer Steve Assaff on being professional in all dealings throughout the planning process" Developer Steve Assaff a longstanding history as a successful downtown property owner, having constructed the Arlington Shops and Sheffer Court office buildings. Assaff firmly believes that “a quality residence at the centre of Collingwood’s downtown is a great benefit to the growth and maturity of the town itself, and an important place to call home for residents who have continued to support the value of living in the heart of the town”. Developers of the Westin Hotel and Lora Bay and Cobble Beach Clubhouses Will Construct Admiral Collingwood Place Marylyn Joel has been hired to design the interior shared spaces the lobby, the Roof Top Garden, the corridors and social spaces. Tom Lepage has assumed the role as property manager. Stature Construction Ltd. will build Admiral Collingwood Place. Steve Blair and Chris Anderson, principals of Stature, have a reputation for building the highest quality. Their work includes theWestin Hotel and Mosaic, for Intrawest, and the renowned Lora Bay and Cobble Beach Clubhouses. “Our building will be in the very best of hands as it rises from the ground,” says developer Steve Assaff. Shoppers Drug Mart and Bank Of Montreal To Be A Part Of Admiral Collingwood Place Admiral Collingwood Place will stand at the southern boundary of Collingwood’s downtown business district and will be home to two major businesses. Shoppers Drug Mart and Bank of Montreal will relocate to street level spaces in mid 2008. Admiral Collingwood Place is a five-storey condominium residence of 87 homes only, sized from 800 to 2,400 sq. ft. and priced from $249,900 including GST and underground parking. The sales office is located on site, adjacent to Scotiabank and Hurontario Street. |
