Public Engagement Session 2 Parks Recreation and Culture

The Town of Collingwood Parks, Recreation and Culture department will present Public Engagement Session #2, an overview of the results from the stakeholder sessions, various working groups, online surveys and feedback from special events Wednesday April 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Community Rooms B & C on the 3rd floor of the Collingwood Public Library.

Identified as an action item in the 2015 Community Based Strategic Plan (CBSP), the updated PRC Master Plan will serve as a roadmap for the department for the next 10 years and will include an assessment of existing and future park land needs.

Public input will form a key part of the background to drafting the Master Plan.

By participating in several public meetings, open houses, and a survey, the public has and will continue to have many opportunities to share their vision for a healthy, creative and active community.

MHBC Planning Consultants will be assisting in the process, and have already received an in-depth introduction to the PRC mandate and portfolio of responsibilities.

The previous departmental Master Plan was drafted in 2008 when the department was known as Leisure Services.

The Town of Collingwood Community Based Strategic Plan (CBSP) is a guiding document which outlines the community’s vision and goals, and which will be used to assist Council in developing priorities and action items to achieve these goals.
