$30,000 In Cash And Prizes
Canada's largest ski and snowboard festival made a stop in Collingwood Ski Country to kick off the March Break. Blue Mountain hosted the TELUS Triple Challenge from March 8th to 10th. The festival featured many events including half-pipe, slope style, rail jam and big air to rail competitions, with $30,000.00 in cash and prizes up for grabs. Of course, the Big Air competitions were a crowd favourite again this year as skiers and boarders launched themselves into the air from a huge ramp on Blue Mountain's Smart Alec run at the entrance to the Village In addition to the competition, visitors were treated to two, free, outdoor concerts featuring Weybourne Project and The Quarry
After a slow start, the ski season is now providing some of the best March Break conditions for skiing and boarding in recent memory. All of this is good for business in Collingwood as the area is busy with winter tourists looking to take advantage of the outstanding conditions.
