Downtown Collingwood
-- Spring Restaurant Walking Tour --

A group of participtants of the Downtown Collingwood Spring Restaurant Walking Tour prepare to visit The Beild House (above) while another group gathers in front of The Admiral's Post (below).

A Celebration Of Great Taste

It was a celebration of the arrival of Spring, not to mention a celebration of the amazing tastes to be found in Collingwood's downtown restaurants. The 2008 Downtown Collingwood Spring Restaurant Walking Tour drew a large crowd again this year. The gathering broke into smaller groups to begin their guided tour of downtown eating establishments. Upon arrival at each destination, groups learned the history of the restaurant, met the owners and staff, and were treated to special offerings of food and drink. The tour was blessed with mid-summer weather conditions, allowing downtown patios to open.

Town of Collingwood Special Events Coordinator Karen Cubitt was one of the guides for the Spring Restaurant Walking Tour, pictured above (left) at Dags & Willow on Pine Street.

The warm weather allowed the Restaurant Tour to move outside as summer patios are now open for the season in Downtown Collingwood!

What would a restaurant tour be without some traditional pub style fish and chips?

This group was just preparing to enter the Zencha Tea Shop on Hurontario Street.

Collingwood Town Councilor Norm Sandberg took part in the Restaurant Walking Tour, pictured above with Downtown Collingwood BIA Manager Sue Nicholson. Nicholson was pleased with the large turnout for this year's Spring event. The tour continues to grow in popularity. Make plans now to attend the Fall Restaurant Walking Tour, or better still, visit Downtown Collingwood any time and take yourself and your friends to the many fine restaurants, patios and coffee and tea shops.
