Collingwood Citizens Help To Raise Funds
To Find A Cure For Multiple Sclerosis

Collingwood residents were once again helping to raise much needed funds to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis by taking part in the Collingwood Super Cities Walk on Sunday, April 19th. The WALK began at 10am Sunday morning, and originated at the Collingwood Legion, offering participants the choice of a 3km or 7km route.

The Super Cities Walk is the MS Society’s largest event fundraiser involving over 70,000 participants and volunteers in more than 160 communities across Canada. From the 70-person Walk in Candle Lake, Saskatchewan, to the 3,700-person Walk in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the MS Walk is truly a family oriented, community-supported event. The WALK began in 1991 and is now one of the most important events for the MS Society to raise funds and to increase public awareness of the need to continue research. In 2008, The WALK raised over $12 million in Canada. Proceeds have gone to fund research in the search for a cure and vital services for people currently living with MS.

"There is a cure ... we just need to find it"
