Montreal Canadiens Coach Jacques Martin
Enjoyed Holding Mini-Camp in Collingwood

Montreal Canadiens Head Coach Jacques Martin enjoyed his stay in Collingwood. He said a short mini-camp at the end of training camp allows the team to bond quickly as it prepares to open the long, often grueling, NHL season. Martin had nothing but praise for the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena and facilities at Blue Mountain where the team stayed. Martin was pleased with the warm reception he and the players received from residents of Collingwood and area.

As for the upcoming season, even though his team was just one goal away from defeating the Boston Bruins who went on to win the Stanley Cub, Martin wasn't making any predictions, other than to say that he feels his team is better this year. He also hopes the Canadiens can stay healthy.

The Canadiens open the NHL season on Thursday, October 6th, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto against the Maple Leafs in an opening night Original Six showdown.

Canadiens Head Coach Jacques Martin says his team is ready for the new NHL season after spending the final three days of training camp in Collingwood.
