Summer's Biggest Party
Collingwood Elvis Festival 2008
RETURNING CHAMPION "I will always be in debt to this festival because it gave me my start" --former Champion Robin Kelly
Summer's Biggest Party lived up to its reputation. The 2008 Collingwood Elvis Festival continues to grow and truly is "bigger and better than ever!" Former Champion Robin Kelly from Edmonton Alberta returned for another visit. "I will always be in debt to this festival because it gave me my start" Kelly says. Pete Paquette also returned to the Collingwood Elvis Festival. Paquette is a festival favourite year after year. Paquette (pictured below performing in Downtown Collingwood) performed on the main street stage on Friday July 25th and, along with Robin Kelly, entertained on the weekend at the Olde Town Terrace.

This year's Awesome Street Party & Tribute Artist Showcase in Downtown Collingwood began at 1pm on Friday July 25th and continued until midnight, featuring performances by over 130 Elvis Tribute Artists. This event has grown in popularity to the point were people were actually arriving at 6am to secure front row seats. This year, the Collingwood Elvis Festival introduced the SIRIUS Satellite Radio "All Canadian Stage." This venue was located in the Pine Street Parking lot and acted as a "Canadian Star" practice stage for artists to prepare for their performance on the Main Street Stage at the Friday Night Street Party. In addition, the stage hosted a martial arts demonstration, the Graceliners tribute to Elvis, the Family Venue Tour and Canada's own Mike Cadillac and the Rockin' 88's performing live. On Sunday, July 27th, a variety of young performers took to the stage for the annual "Youth Talent Showcase."
