"If you believe in forever, than life is just a one night stand." Those were the lyrics of the Righteous Brother's huge hit song Rock 'N Roll Heaven from the summer of 1974. It was Rock And Roll Heaven night on Canadian Idol on Monday July 21st as the 9 remaining Canadian Idol contestants took to the stage to perform a song made popular by a recording artist who has since passed away. The evening provided some of the best entertainment of the Idol season, including Drew Wright's performance of Blind Melon's "No Rain. Lead singer Shannon Hoon passed away at age 28 after the release of the band's second album.

"Those People In Collingwood
Aren't Crazy After All"

Canadian Idol judge Zack Werner who had earlier been critical of Wright's stage performances, was more impressed with his performance on this night. "I think that vocally you really did a good job and you proved that all of those people in Collingwood aren't crazy after all" Werner said. Sass Jordan was very impressed with Drew's performance. "D - W" did it again! I love the way you did it" Jordan said. The two other judges, Farley Flex and Jake Gold also told Drew that he did a good job on Monday night.
