WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BED RACE
In Downtown Collingwood
The Collingwood Optimist Club's World Championship of Bed Races returned for its second exciting year on Sunday April 5th. A 'pump up' pancake breakfast fueled the racers as they prepared to roar down Hurontario Street pushing their specially modified racing beds. Except for the nominated passenger, any riding on the bed was strictly forbidden! Racers arrived at 11am on a chilly spring day to compete for the "World Championship" Trophy, and honours for the team with the most supportive cheer squad and best Pirate Theme decorated bed racer.
Bed Racing Teams consisted of 5 participants with four people pushing and one person (required to be at least 18 years of age and wearing pajamas) in the bed. The Bed parade will made its way to Hurontario Street from the Collingwood Curling Club at 10:30am, and the racing began 11am on Hurontario Street between third and second streets.
