Stephen Assaff of Charis Developments, along with Collingwood Mayor Sandra Cooper and Members of Council, gathered today for the Official Kick Off of Admiral Collingwood Place, a new 6 storey residential condominium in downtown Collingwood, at the intersection of Hurontario St. and Hume St.

In advance of the event, Charis Developments President, Stephen C. Assaff had these remarks: "The Town of Collingwood has long awaited this development, which will create an iconic landmark in our lively downtown core. I'm honoured to contribute to this town that has given me so much over the years and grateful for the support of the Mayor and Council."

A previous plan had been in the works 5 years ago, so there is much excitement to see the project renewed, as an entire block is revitalized.

"We are excited to see new development at the corner of Hume and Hurontario Streets. This will be a state of the art building generating employment, growth and tax revenue for the Town of Collingwood. There is much confidence in working together cooperatively with Mr. Assaff and his new development and we are delighted that it is proceeding forward", said Mayor Sandra Cooper, of the Town of Collingwood.

With an eye to the Town's unique heritage, the building design will be in keeping with the picturesque main street, and incorporate red brick, stone and stucco, paired with historical detailing. Adding to the overall aesthetic appeal, each suite will feature a balcony or deep terrace perfect for entertaining and soaking in the beautiful views of downtown, Georgian Bay and Blue Mountain.

With the support of the Mayor and local council, the project is slated for completion in 2014 and will include 28,700 SF of ground level commercial space with parking at the rear, and approximately 125 residential suites in five stories above; an ideal mix for downtown.

Admiral Collingwood Place features an array of beautiful suite designs ranging from 1 bedroom + den layouts to luxury 3 bedroom penthouses with over 2600 square feet of living space. Suites are elegantly appointed with an exquisite variety of finishing options including gourmet kitchens, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

In addition to an elegant lobby, lavish building amenities include a landscaped rooftop affording owners 360-degree views, the use of outdoor cabanas, BBQ's, a tranquil water feature, and indoor fitness room. The indoor rooftop lounge doubles as a party room with warming kitchen for social gatherings and family functions.

Collingwood is a high-demand destination, particularly for baby-boomers, as they seek an active lifestyle. It offers an abundance of amenities, elegant fine dining, shopping, theatre, golfing, and culture and entertainment. With its ideal mix of small town charm and sleek sophistication, it's no wonder it's a destination to dream of.

Prices at Admiral Collingwood Place start in the mid $200,000's with some suites up to over $800,000 including an underground parking space and locker. Phase 1 is scheduled for release early this fall.

The Presentation Centre, located across the street on Hurontario in the Royal Bank Plaza, is expected to open early this fall. For advance information on Admiral Collingwood Place, register online at www.theadmiralcondos.com.
