All Quiet At Shipyards
Mayor Geddes Says Planning Continues
All appears to be quiet at the site of the former Collingwood Shipyards. The heavy machinery that spent most of the summer clearing the site has disappeared. The initial public meeting process is over. Collingwood Mayor Terry Geddes says the FRAM Group developers are now going over information gathered in the public meetings and the planning stage continues. He says the next step will see the FRAM group and representatives from CSL present the final plans for development to town council. Geddes says this is the most important part of the entire planning phase. He says the FRAM group is developing the actual design, concept and architecture based on input gathered from council and from the public. Geddes says although things look to be quiet along the waterfront, there is a great deal of activity taking place behind the scenes.
“We’re waiting for the FRAM group and representatives from CSL to come back to council to present the final plans for development” said Mayor Terry Geddes.
