Here's a story from August 2003 when the Dragon Boat Festival took over not just Collingwood harbour, but the downtown streets as well.

Opening Ceremonies - Downtown Friday Night BackDragons1 Live entertainment and a street dance highlighted the Opening Ceremonies of the Collingwood Dragon Boat Festival. There were a lot of activities including whatever these two (above right) were up to! The guy on the bottom survived by the way! BackDragons2 Dragon Boat teams marched from the Museum to the opening ceremonies in Downtown Collingwood. Live entertainment and a street dance got underway following the parade and opening ceremonies. Mike Christie from the downtown Collingwood BIA and Mayor Terry Geddes welcomed everyone to this year's event.

RACE DAY The Weather Was Perfect

BackDragons3 The Collingwood Dragon Boat Festival got underway in Collingwood Harbour early Saturday Morning, September 6th, under bright blue skies. It didn't take long for a large crowd to gather to watch the day's activities. The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Collingwood and the Rotary Club of South Georgian Bay.
